My Grandfather Centre Back in Royal Marines' Uniform, his Parents Seated, Outside their Pub 'The Cricketers' Enfield, Brother Bob in front C 1915
(above) Percy William Alder (born 1897 Enfield) he with the hat at a jaunty angle! Seated are his parents William Alder born 1873 Denchworth and Annie Simmons born 1870 Great Canfield, and their youngest son Albert Henry 'Bob' Alder born 1903 Enfield. 'The Cricketers' later became a more fancy affair than it was when Bill and Annie were running it - Dad said it was just a ground floor building.
Granddad joined the Royal Marines Light Infantry at the age of 16 (he lied about his age!), he served at Ostend, Dunkirk, the defence of Antwerp, and was in an expeditionary force to the Dardanelles.
Below is Percy William Alder (left) and his brother Bob....

Nice quiet pub, The Cricketers - or it was the last time I was in there (about five years back)
